This is a wonderful time to get outside and join in some summer activities. Fortunately, Bloomer, WI has a long lineup of fun events we can all join. We’re looking forward to learning more about attracting butterflies to our summer gardens, attending the circus, and more. Here’s what’s happening this summer in Bloomer.

1. Monarch Parenting 101

If you’ve ever wanted to see more monarch butterflies in your backyard, you’ll want to attend this special event. The Monarch Parenting 101 session will be an opportunity to learn how to attract butterflies using inexpensive supplies and easy techniques. We’ll also be learning about milkweed and its connection to monarchs.

This presentation is happening at the G.E. Bleskacek Family Memorial Library located at 1519 17th Avenue. It’s happening on Wednesday, June 21 at 6:00 pm. The event is geared toward an adult audience interested in summer gardening.

2. Culpepper & Merriweather Circus

The circus will be in Bloomer on Sunday, July 16th with shows happening at 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm. The circus is happening at Bloomer Fairgrounds at 1609 9th Avenue. Tickets for this event cost $8 for children up to 12 years old and $13 for adults.

This will be a fun opportunity to get the whole family together in your 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The rearview camera should make crowded parking at the fairgrounds a lot easier to manage.

3. DNR Fish Hatchery Program

Those curious about what’s happening at the Governor Tommy G. Thompson State Fish Hatchery will want to attend this presentation. The group leader for the DNR will be at the library to share information about what happens day to day at the hatchery. They will discuss what is produced there. They will also compare the hatchery to others in the area.

This program is free to attend and guests of all ages are welcome. It’s happening on Wednesday, June 28th at 6:00 pm. The presentation will be at G.E. Bleskacek Family Memorial Library located at 1519 17th Avenue.

4. Live Music at Val’s Place

Zero Below will be performing live on Saturday, July 1 at 6:00 pm as part of the 4th of July celebrations in town. The band plays covers of popular rock music from the 1960s up through today. Some of the bands they cover include The Beatles, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Metallica, and Tame Impala. Attendees will want to come to Val’s Place at 18982 State Highway 124 here in Bloomer.

It’s going to be another wonderful summer here with plenty of events to drive to. Your family and friends will have a lot more fun in the car if you have a new vehicle to enjoy together. Visit Southworth Chevrolet GMC today to see our wide selection of new vehicles.
